Not sure which plant you have, whether its soil needs water or where to start with a damaged leaf? AI Planter combines photo matching, a care reference library and browser tools to help you choose the next thing to check.
How to use it
- Explore without signing up. Try a sample photo, browse the 282 plant records or open a care calculator.
- Check the suggestion. Compare reference photos and inspect light, soil, roots and pests. Use the problem checklist to organize observations.
- Keep a record. Save dated observations in the local care journal and export a backup before clearing browser data.
What the tools can and cannot tell you
The photo tool compares visual features with common houseplant records and flags patterns that may resemble leaf problems. It does not confirm a species, pathogen, root problem or nutrient deficiency. A displayed model score is not a validated probability of correctness; no real-world accuracy rate is claimed here.
Care ranges describe general conditions, not a prescription for your room. Check the root zone before watering. Some records lack toxicity information. A photo match or missing warning cannot establish that a plant is safe to eat or safe for pets. Confirm the scientific name using an authoritative veterinary reference such as the ASPCA plant list.
Photos, storage and network access
Your chosen photos are processed in this browser, not uploaded for analysis. Analysis automatically adds likely matches and history to local browser storage. Saved plants, resized history photos, reminders and care-journal records stay in that browser. They do not automatically sync across devices. Clearing site data or changing browser profiles can remove access to those records; use the journal’s backup export for records you want to keep.
The first photo analysis downloads model files, including roughly 14 MB of weights, so it needs a connection and may take longer on slower devices. A fallback may download model libraries from external CDNs. Page requests and downloads still reach hosting providers, which may keep ordinary access logs. The site also uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic, which sets two optional cookies (_ga and _ga_NF8R4VPCJX) that you can block in your browser. Optional shop links open Gumroad, which has its own terms and data practices.
The encyclopedia, guides and calculators can be read or used without buying a product or creating an account. The analyzer needs JavaScript and WebAssembly. Camera use needs device permission; choosing a photo is the alternative.
Methods and optional resources
The editorial standards explain sources, authorship, calculator assumptions and diagnostic limits. The research pages distinguish analysis of this site’s care database from cited external studies. A cited plant-disease study is not an accuracy test of this analyzer.
Books and the Plant Rescue & Care Toolkit are optional paid products by the same publisher. Product links let you inspect the current contents and terms on Gumroad before paying.
