Editorial Standards & Calculator Methods

How AI Planter sources care guidance, labels calculations, explains diagnostic limits, and handles local care records and commercial links.

Care advice is most useful when its evidence, assumptions and limits are visible. This page explains how to read AI Planter’s new guides, reference library and tools.

Sources and authorship

Articles are published under the AI Planter Editorial Team name. That identifies the site’s publishing voice; it is not a claim of an independent horticultural or veterinary review. Writing and code can be assisted by software and AI. A named professional review is only claimed when it is explicitly identified on the page.

The October 11, 2026 guides include source links for relevant horticultural facts, principally university extension material. Those links let readers inspect the underlying guidance. Original worked calculations are labeled as examples; they are not presented as a measured trial or a current utility tariff.

Care ranges are starting points

The encyclopedia contains species care records. Light, humidity and temperature ranges describe general growing conditions, while watering frequency is an estimate that changes with substrate, roots, pot and room. Check the root zone before adding water. Database filters show what is recorded, and missing toxicity information is not treated as proof of non-toxicity.

The comparison tool shows the relevant care fields side by side without inventing a universal compatibility score. The finder filters the same records rather than claiming to predict survival in a particular home.

Calculators and diagnostic limits

Numeric tools show formulas, units and assumptions beside the result. Soil volume assumes a round pot with a straight taper. Light cost uses the tariff entered by the reader. VPD describes modeled atmospheric demand, not a watering prescription. Lux is not converted to PPFD using a universal factor.

The problem solver is an observation checklist. Photo analysis and symptom checklists cannot confirm every disease, resolve every lookalike, or replace inspection of roots and live pests. Treatment products must be suitable for the plant, the identified problem, and local labeling requirements.

Pet-safety information

Confirm the scientific name and check an authoritative veterinary source such as the ASPCA plant database. Non-toxic does not mean intended as food or incapable of causing stomach upset. If a pet has eaten a concerning plant, contact a veterinarian with the plant label or a clear photograph.

Research, updates and corrections

The research section separates analysis of the site’s care dataset from cited published studies. A calculated statistic describes its dataset and assumptions; it is not automatically a biological rule for every home.

Article publication and modification dates describe the content, not a claim that every linked external reference was newly published on that date. Sitemap modification dates follow content changes rather than a daily freshness stamp. For corrections or questions, use the contact options on the publisher’s website and include the affected page and the evidence to check.

Local tools and commercial links

Calculators run in the browser. The care journal stores records locally and offers explicit backup exports; it does not promise cross-device sync. Site hosting still delivers pages and may keep ordinary server logs. Linked paid books and toolkits are separate products from the same publisher; free care guides and calculators remain available without buying them.
