Propagation Tracker
A simple local record for every cutting on the windowsill: what it is, when it was cut, and which stage it has reached.
Add a cutting, then move it through cut, callus, roots and potted. Nothing is uploaded; the list lives in this browser under its own storage key.
Stored only in this browser, in a dedicated key. It is not tied to your identity and is deleted when you clear the list or your browser data.

Clear every cutting from this browser? The list cannot be recovered unless you exported it first.
The drawings show a pace, not a promise. Warmth, light and the species decide the real timing.
How it works
The tracker keeps a small JSON record in localStorage under its own key, separate from the care journal. Each cutting has a nickname, an optional plant name, a method, the cut date and one of four stages:
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Cut | The cutting is fresh and has just gone into water, moss or perlite. |
| Callus | The cut end has sealed or callused, which many succulents need before rooting. |
| Roots | Roots or root nodes are visible and the cutting is ready for the next step. |
| Potted | The rooted cutting is in its own pot. |
Loaded records are validated field by field and capped at 100 cuttings, so a corrupted or hand-edited entry cannot break the page. The JSON export contains exactly what you entered and can be kept as a backup.
The tracker records progress; it does not prescribe timing. Rooting speed depends on species, temperature, light and the method you used, so judge by the cutting rather than by the day count.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my propagation list stored?
In this browser, in local storage under its own key. Nothing is sent to a server and no account is needed.
Does the list sync between devices?
No. Local storage belongs to one browser on one device. Use the JSON export if you want a backup or want to move the record elsewhere.
What do the stages mean?
Cut is a fresh cutting, callus is a sealed cut end, roots means visible rooting, and potted means the cutting is in its own container. The progress bar is simply how far along that path it is.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
The list is removed with the site’s other local data. Export the JSON first if you want to keep it.
Can I edit a cutting after adding it?
You can change its stage with the four stage buttons and remove it with the Remove link. To change the name or date, remove it and add it again.
